Grittenham Barn is set in a serene and beautiful location with views out over the South Downs. The gardens are available for guests to enjoy and on the day you may take drinks on the terrace outside the barn or by the lake or elsewhere in the grounds, the choice is yours. You can only appreciate how stunning it is when you come to visit.

We are licensed for Civil Ceremonies. Please contact Chichester Council for information regarding registrars and registrar costs.

Grittenham Barn is arranged on 2 levels with the lower area lending itself perfectly for a civil ceremony seating a maximum of 120 guests. This area can then be used for reception drinks, more seating or even as a dance floor. This lower area works perfectly for a bar and chill out area around the open fire later in the evening.

The top end of the barn is a larger area and can seat 120 guests comfortably. You can seat up to 130 in this area which can also lends itself perfectly for a dining area or as a dance floor later. If you want a smaller and cosier event we can section off parts of the barn to make it feel the right size for your numbers.

We only do one wedding a weekend and we believe that this makes it feel personal and relaxed. It means your caterers and you can get into the barn on a Friday morning to set up and you can clear up during the Sunday morning.

Sadly, the music does have to be turned off by 11.45pm and the wedding finish by midnight with guests leaving forthwith unless they have booked to camp!

You are free to use whichever caterer you wish (although we have a list of recommended caterers to help you).

We have an exceptional on site florist (who grows many of her flowers here) and a lighting engineer who can create fantastic effects in the barn and grounds for you - we believe you will find both are outstandingly creative and very competitive on pricing, if you choose to use them.

We also have an on-site cocktail barman who is available for hire and can make you delicious cocktails or simply run the bar for you (normally at a much better rate than caterers charge).

We have a small but adequate kitchen with no cooking equipment. There is extra preparation and storage space available for use in our outer building.
