Welcome to Grittenham - a Grade II listed Sussex barn, set in stunning gardens with lake, orchard and woodland - all with breathtaking views over glorious countryside and to the South Downs.
Grittenham is set near Petworth in the heart of West Sussex South Downs National Park. The barn, farmhouse and outbuildings form a historic site, that was mentioned in the Domesday Book. All have been beautifully restored – winning an award from Sussex Heritage Trust.
Admire the views of the South Downs and neighbouring vineyards, visit our donkeys and goats, or watch ducks paddling on the lake. The opportunities for stunning wedding photographs are endless – see our gallery for inspiration.
We are a family run venue and only host 35 weddings a year; we operate a ‘one wedding per weekend’ policy, to ensure you are able to enjoy your big day to the full. Grittenham Barn is licensed for inside and outside ceremonies, or you can choose to get married at one of the beautiful local country churches.
The barn is split level enabling the ceremony to be conducted in its own, secluded space. In the evening this becomes a chilled out area for the bar and comfortable seating by the central fireplace, away from the dancing and music but with everybody still in one building.
You can find information on weddings at Grittenham, prices, lists of recommended suppliers and a large gallery of images for inspiration, all here on the site; but do get in touch to arrange a viewing or to find out more about hosting your wedding or special occasion at our wonderful barn venue.
